Last week went by without a peep from the untethered iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak. So where is it?

We don’t know exactly, but based on PlanetBeing’s tweet, it might not be long now before we finally see the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 go public.

Here’s the good news that was shared:

Finally got unsigned code running on my 4S with the stuff that will go into the new jailbreak!

And to whet everyone’s appetite, pot2dog released this video of a jailbroken iPhone 4S complete with Siri demo:

For those of you guys looking forward to this jailbreak and haven’t upgraded yet to iOS 5.0.1, you’re highly advised to do so before iOS 5.1 is released. Why? It’s because Apple has already patched the exploit used in this untethered jailbreak. Meaning, you won’t be able to jailbreak your iPhone 4S/iPad 2 if it’s running on iOS 5.1. So upgrade now before it’s too late.

For everyone else, it’s back to the waiting game.
