Why Microsoft’s Surface announcement pitch sounds strangely familiar

If you copy the product, you might as well copy the product’s CEO’s pitch. That’s the moral that popped in my head after watching Microsoft’s announcement – not product launch – of their Surface tablet. I had been planning to point out the too-strangely-familiar-format, when folks at readwriteweb did a side-by-side comparison. Watch this.

With no firm shipping date, exact pricing, or even a ballpark figure battery life mentioned at the announcement, I am getting this sinking feeling. Because, deep down, after I saw the first Windows 8 demo for tablets – I started to secretly yay for Microsoft (even though I’m a total iPad fanboy).

But boy did that video leave a bad taste in my mouth.
