Mark your calendars, boys and girls! We know have a date to look forward to as to when Windows 8 will go public.
Ready?
D-day for Windows 8 is October 26, three whole months (and a couple of days) away!
How much?
The bad news is, it still isn’t quite as affordable as Mountain Lion. The good news is, it’s more – way more – affordable than before.
Windows 8 Pro will be available to Windows 7, Windows Vista, and XP users as a downloadable upgrade for just – get this – $39.99. Based on current exchange rates, that’s roughly just around Php1,700 only. Take note, that’s Windows 8 Pro. For comparison’s sake, Windows 7 Starter Edition nowadays retails for Php1,999. Not bad, eh? I guess Microsoft finally saw the light (beaming, no doubt, from Apple’s overflowing cash coffers).
Of course, there’s still that question on whether or not that pricing will stick for us here in the Philippines, but this bit of news should be good enough for now.
So, how about it guys? You excited for Windows 8?
