Windows 8 is one bangin new OS, and we can’t wait to see it roll out in 2012. Actually, if you’ve got a spare PC or laptop around, you can already take Microsoft’s next major Windows release for a spin by downloading the Windows 8 Preview Release right now.
But let’s face it, the real test of Windows 8 is if it can stack up against the iPad and Apple’s iOS. It also has Honeycomb, or shall we say Ice Cream Sandwich (or prolly Jelly Bean or some other Android dessert by the time it’s released), to contend with.
But the iPad is the undisputed king of tablets, so there’s no better platform to compare Windows 8 with than iOS, which is exactly what Winrumors did in this video below. And take note, this isn’t just any iPad. This one runs on iOS 5.
So, is Windows 8 better than iOS? Well, let’s just say its different. Different, but in a good way.
And after so many years of playing around with iOS, either on the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, being different really works to the favor of Window 8.
We just hope its Windows Store will be open for business globally once Window 8 is released. ‘Cause if not, this will surely be a major major turn-off, which I’m sure is the case with Windows Phone 7 right now.
