A few folks from MSI-ECS Philippines, the exclusive local distributor of ZTE phones, just dropped by to fill us in regarding some of the company’s latest additions to its local smartphone lineup.
ZTE proudly describes its phones – the entry-level Blade series, the midrange Skate series and the range-topping Grand series – as being affordable yet replete with features smartphone users of today clamor for.
The Blade series is currently available in over 50 countries, including China, where it’s the top-selling Android phone. In total, more than 10 million units have been sold.
The first new unit that’s just seen local release is the Blade E (SRP Php6,790), a quad-core-powered (1.2GHz Snapdragon) 3G smartphone running Android 4.1 and sporting a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854) display and a dual-SIM card slot.
ZTE and MSI-ECS have also seen fit to release the Blade C (SRP Php4,290) in the Philippines. This model sits on a slightly lower rung than the Blade E and comes with a dual-core 1GHz processor and a 4-inch TFT screen. Its 4GB internal memory is expandable.
The top-of-the-line Grand series has also recently been introduced to the Philippines as well as other nations like China, Switzerland and Turkey. The Grand X Quad V987 (SRP Php11,990) also comes with a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and two SIM card slots. It boasts an 8MP main camera augmented by an LED flash and which can handle full HD recording. Its 5-inch display makes use of OGS technology to remain visible even in bright sunlight.
